Reverse Osmosis System
Reverse Osmosis(RO) is membrane-technology filtration method that removes many types of large molecules and ions from solutions by applying pressure to the solution when it is on one side of a selective membrane.
Reverse osmosis is most common known for its use in drinking water purification from seawater, removing the salt and other substances from the water molecules. It is widely used in producing ultra-pure water, pharmaceutics process water, cosmetics, seawater desalination, brackish water desalination, drinking purified water, sitilled water, high pressure boiler water, power station water supply .
Typical Reverse Osmosis Processing Flow:
Raw water pump → Silica sand filter → Activated carbon filter→ Sodium ion exchanger → Security filter → High-pressure pump →Reverse osmosis system →Uv sterilizer→Ozone sterilizer →Finished Water tank
1. Raw Water Pump: provide the pressure to silica sandfilter/active carbon filter
2. Silica Sand Filter: get rid of turbidity, suspended matter, organic matter, colloid and so on
3. Activated Carbon Filter: Remove the color, free chloride, organic matter, harmful matter and so on
4, Water Softener: Get rid of calcium and magnesium ions in original / source water, reduce water hardness.
5. Security Filter: prevent any deposition of large Particles into the RO membrane, The accuracy is 5um, for holding back any large particulates such as large iron, dust, suspended matter, impurity.
6. High Pressure Pump: Provide the high pressure to RO membrane(at least 2.0 Mpa).
7. RO system: main part of pure water treatment plant. The desaltation rate upto 99%, it is capable of removing over 99% of ions and 98% of organic.
8.UV Sterilizer : kill some bad substance that may also pass through the reverse osmosis
9.Ozone Sterilizer: Use ozone Kill bacteria not killed by UV
10.Finished Water Tank : For filter water storage

Frequently Asked Questions
What information is needed to size an industrial RO system?
A recent raw-water analysis, the treated-water quality you need to reach, hourly capacity, daily operating hours, target recovery rate, destination country and the utilities available on site.
Can the RO system be integrated with a beverage filling line?
Yes. The system is engineered with treated-water storage, distribution, disinfection and controls for connection to beverage processing or filling equipment. Capacity is normally sized above nominal filler consumption to allow for CIP and peak demand.
What is RO system used for?
RO (Reverse Osmosis) system removes suspended solids, heavy metals, bacteria, salts and impurities from raw water, to produce purified water for PET bottled water filling line.
What raw water sources can RO system handle?
It can treat tap water, well water, river water and underground water. The design is based on raw water quality report, especially TDS value.
What is the TDS range of RO treated water?
Normally, raw water TDS can be reduced by 95%~98%. - If raw water TDS <1000ppm, treated water TDS can reach ≤10–50 ppm, which meets drinking purified water standard.
What pre-treatment units are equipped before RO membrane?
Standard pre-treatment: raw water tank → raw water pump → quartz sand filter → activated carbon filter → softener (ion exchange) → security filter (5μm).
What material for RO vessel and pipeline?
RO pressure vessel: FRP; water pipeline: UPVC or SUS304 stainless steel.
What brand RO membrane do you use?
We can supply DOW, Vontron, Hydranautics according to client request.
How long is the service life of RO membrane?
Under proper operation & regular maintenance, RO membrane service life is 2–3 years.
What is the recovery rate of RO system?
Single stage RO recovery rate: 50%~75%. Two stage RO can achieve higher recovery rate.
Is CIP cleaning system included?
CIP chemical cleaning device is optional. It is recommended for long term operation to clean fouling on RO membranes.
What power supply for RO water treatment system?
Standard: 380V / 3Ph / 50Hz. Custom voltage available as per local requirement.
What maintenance work is needed routinely?
1. Replace security filter cartridge periodically. 2. Regenerate water softener resin. 3. Monitor TDS and pressure. 4. Perform CIP cleaning when pressure difference rises
Can RO system work automatically?
Yes, automatic version with PLC + touch screen, auto start/stop, low pressure & high pressure protection. Manual control version is also available for small capacity.
What is warranty period?
12 months warranty from shipment date (consumables like filter cartridge, RO membrane excluded). Lifetime technical support.
What certificates can you provide?
12 months warranty from shipment date (consumables like filter cartridge, RO membrane excluded). Lifetime technical support.
