Precision Filter (Security Filter)

The cylinder shell are generally made of stainless steel, inside we use PP melt-blowing, wire burning, folding, titanium filter, activated carbon filters and other tubular filter as a filter elements, and depends on the different filter media and design process to select different filter elements to achieve the water output quality requirement.
Protects expensive NF/RO membranes from damage Traps fine particles, rust and colloidal impurities Stainless‑steel pressure housing, long service life Quick‑change filter cartridge, easy maintenance Compact size, saves installation space Multiple micron grades available Reliable last‑stage safety pre‑filtration Low operating cost, stable water flow

Micron Filter

The device is made of imported stainless steel(SUS304 or SUS316L). There are many different makes of the filter in micron pore, cartridge material, flow rate, size. The filter has very compact structure and is easy to dismount, clean, backwash. The micron rate varies from 0.1um. As a suitable filtering medium, are selectable Titanium, Stainless Steel, PP, Nylon, PSF, PTFE, PVDF. The molding of the filtering media molding process can be done by sintering, hot melt spraying, wire winding, folding. The filter has been used in producing ultra-pure water, distilled water, mineral water, beers and beverage, other liquid.

Note: if the filter is used to deal with mineral water with ozone has been added, pls select an ozone-resistant filtering medium.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a precision filter and what is it used for?

The precision filter(micron filter), is a core safety filtration device for water pretreatment. It is installed after sand filters and carbon filters and before RO/UF membrane systems. It effectively traps fine particles, filter media powder, suspended solids and tiny contaminants, further reducing water turbidity and SDI value. It protects membrane elements from scratch and blockage, ensuring stable operation of membrane systems.

What is the working principle of a precision filter?

Under water pressure, raw water flows from the outside to the inside of the filter cartridge. Impurities larger than the cartridge pore size are physically intercepted on the surface and inside of the cartridge. Clean water passes through and completes precision filtration. When the pressure difference reaches 0.1–0.15 MPa due to pollutant accumulation, the cartridge needs to be replaced to recover filtration capacity and water flow.

What filtration micron ratings are available?

Common precision grades include 1μm, 5μm (standard for RO pretreatment). Other optional sizes: 0.1μm, 0.2μm, 10μm, 20μm, 50μm. Different micron ratings can be selected according to raw water quality and downstream equipment requirements.

What materials are available for the filter housing?

Standard housing materials are SS304 and SS316L stainless steel. They feature corrosion resistance, no secondary pollution and high sanitation, suitable for industrial water, drinking water, food & beverage and pharmaceutical industries. Polished and sandblasted surface treatments are optional.

What are the differences between common filter cartridges?

- PP melt-blown cartridge: cost-effective, universal and widely used for general industrial water filtration. - String-wound cartridge: high dirt holding capacity, suitable for water with more impurities. - Pleated cartridge: high flux, low pressure drop and high precision, ideal for high-purity water systems.

Does the precision filter need backwashing?

No backwashing required. The filter cartridge is a disposable consumable. It cannot be recovered by backwash. Replace the cartridge directly when the pressure difference rises or the water flow decreases.

How often should the filter cartridge be replaced?

Under normal water quality, the PP cartridge service cycle is 1–3 months. If the raw water contains many impurities, the replacement cycle will be shorter. The key replacement standard is when pressure difference reaches 0.1–0.15 MPa or water quality and flow drop obviously.

What is the working pressure?

Normal working pressure ranges from 0.1 MPa to 0.4 MPa. The maximum pressure resistance can reach 1.0 MPa, which fully matches standard RO system operating pressure. Custom high-pressure housings are available

What is the difference between precision filter, sand filter and carbon filter?

Sand filters and carbon filters are coarse and medium pretreatment for removing large particles, odor and residual chlorine. The precision filter is high-efficiency terminal safety filtration that removes fine micron-level impurities. The three types of filters are used in series for graded purification and full membrane protection.

Is customization available and what are the applications?

Full customization is supported, including flow rate, cartridge quantity, interface size and housing material. It is widely used in pure water, ultra-pure water, boiler feed water, cooling water, industrial wastewater reuse, food, beverage, chemical and electronic industries for membrane system pretreatment.
